Malaysian style Stir-fry Australian beef with Sambal green Chili

Ingredients

  • 500 gm Chilled Halal Australian Beef slices
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Sugar

Sambal Hijau

  • 150 gm Large green chili, sliced
  • 100 gm Green chili, sliced
  • 100 gm Large Tomato, small cubes
  • 10 gm Candlenut
  • 50 gm Prawn paste
  • 80 gm Onion Red, sliced
  • 40 gm Onion White, sliced
  • 30 gm Lemongrass, sliced
  • 20 ml Lime juice
  • 100 ml Cooking oil

Method

  1. Marinate the beef with the turmeric powder, salt and sugar.

  2. To make the Sambal Hijau, preheat the skillet with some cooking oil over high heat and add the green chili, tomatoes, candlenut, prawn paste, shallots, white onion and lemon grass. Saute it for 8-10 minutes and add salt, sugar and lime juice. Blend this paste to a coarse texture and set aside.

  3. Pre-heat the wok with cooking oil over high heat, add the marinated beef and stir fry the beef for 3 to 4 minutes until cooked to medium well.

  4. Finally, add the sambal hijau that was earlier blended and toss it together with the beef in the wok. Serve it immediately with hot steamed fragrant rice.
